Brief history of how the farm came about:

There’s a little known but long tradition of growing hemp in Pennsylvania dating back to the first days of the Commonwealth. There’s also a long tradition of Gibsons on our farm, where we have been farming for 8 generations dating back to 1804. When the 2018 Farm Bill passed, we knew that the future of our farm and family was in plant medicine.

Why we entered this industry:

Steve and Joe have both had an interest in cannabis for most of their adult lives.  They have each had a combined experience of 30 years of growing cannabis but growing on the family farm was never considered.  It wasn’t until the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill that they were able to grow hemp on their family farm and make it their full time business.  Initially they thought to grow for biomass and sell to wholesaler but with the constant changes in the cannabis industry they forged ahead with Penn’s Choice
